According to a breaking report by WSB-TV’s Ashlynn Webb, Cartersville resident John Phillips was attempting to board a routine Delta flight to Las Vegas. He had already cleared TSA security, verified his ID, and submitted to facial recognition screening. Advised by the gate agent to wait and board last for a potential seat upgrade, Phillips walked down the jet bridge—only to be violently intercepted.
“Phillips says three ICE agents in tactical gear stopped him in the jet bridge, pinned him to the wall and put him in handcuffs,” WSB-TV reported. Phillips, who offered no physical resistance to the agents, told Channel 2, “I’ll never approach a door of an aircraft without wondering if there’s guys standing back there.”
