Victims or collaborators

Disclaimer: These are personal reflections. They represent my perspective and lived experience, not verified facts or legal statements. This writing is intended for discussion and awareness

Speaking from a personal place with admitted bias.

I have thought about this type of complicity of African Americans and ICE for some time now and would like to gain a more comprehensive perspective than mine. So, I will share my views on the legacy of generational trauma, chattel slavery, redlining, Jim Crow, and more through this. I will do my best to speak in a way that is honest.

First, I would like to say: being Black, I do not speak for everyone. The only truth I know is my own. However, I do know my history, the weight, the pain, the struggle, the stories handed down from my parents, grandparents, and family.

Are they victims or collaborators?

Sometimes, the weight of empathy for even these Black men crosses my mind, but it is for a split second. Then reality sets in, and that feeling becomes fleeting, distant, and far.

Yes, they have their own personal stories, families to feed, lights to keep on, but at what cost? If one is willing to abort their humanity for their own self gain, then one must ask: is the exchange equivalent?

The notion of “better them than me” will only work for so long. A time will come when these men have to reflect upon the suffering they have bestowed upon others.

Even though the very foundation of this country is being put into a stranglehold, making people think they have to make unthinkable choices and align themselves with these secret police, that is the design. It is the plan.

Food was never going to go up. Wages, why? The tariffs and student loans. These are the tools of bondage used to create indentured servants, and for all intents and purposes, everything is going according to plan.

However, make no mistake: minorities, LGBTQ people, and women who align themselves with these modern-day atrocities are fully complicit. They are collaborators. When the dust settles, they will be next against the wall, and they are only fast tracking that.

What can one do with family bound to this unholy contract? Let them go. If they would turn on their neighbors, they would surely turn on their friends and family too. It is a vicious cycle that will not end, and the architects of these levers and pulleys know exactly where and how much pressure to put upon the people.

Should you try to reach people? Not anymore. The time spent trying to convince someone they are on the wrong side of history will only put yourself into deeper waters.

If you or a loved one finds yourself in a situation where your family or friends find themselves aligned with ICE or working for ICE, say nothing. Be a clean slate. Listen carefully. Find ways to help others from within.

Not all Germans were complicit in the concentration camps, and many helped Jews escape to freedom. This is your chance. Not all is lost. You are exactly where you need to be. A Trojan horse within a kingdom of hate will aid in finding weak points and exploits.
