I. Warrantless Detentions: Hampton Virginia (04/02/26)
Two independent contractors a father and son carpeting team were snatched in a rapid warrantless operation on private property in Hampton VA. They were simply waiting in an unmarked parking lot for keys to start their workday when agents rolled up in unmarked vehicles. The entire extraction took seconds. A bystander demanded legal justification and asked for a warrant. Agents refused to answer. These silent drive by sweeps depend on zero visibility. Community recording is the only counter.

DHS plans a 500 bed detention warehouse in Surprise AZ and is feeding locals empty promises of short term holds. Arizona Rep Yassamin Ansari went on KTAR News 92.3 and warned the public not to believe them. DHS has zero accountability mechanisms. She pointed to the Mesa Gateway Airport precedent where migrants supposedly held for a maximum of 12 hours were documented staying for days in deplorable conditions. After the recent community hearing where Arizonans testified about the severe trauma of past deportations the message is clear: no detention warehouse in Surprise or anywhere else in the state.

III. East Montana Inspection: 49 Failures in a New Facility

The ERO El Paso Camp East Montana facility opened in July 2025. Its first unclassified inspection already logged 49 deficiencies.
A. Medical Neglect and Public Health Endangerment
A detainee showing clear symptoms of pulmonary TB was not placed in an airborne infection isolation room. ICE and ERO were never even notified the individual needed close medical supervision. Every person inside was deliberately endangered.
B. A Black Hole for Use of Force
22 of the 49 deficiencies were in “Use of Force and Restraints.” Guards operated with total impunity: missing use of force reports zero documentation of immediate medical or mental health checks after violent incidents and missing video recordings. After action reviews were never forwarded to ICE or ERO.
C. Emergency Grievances Ignored
Policy requires a response to emergency grievances within 5 days when health or safety is threatened. At this facility responses took 6 to 14 business days leaving people in agonizing limbo.

IV. Dylan Lopez Contreras: Ten Stolen Months

Dylan is a 21 year old Venezuelan student who entered legally in 2024 through a humanitarian program. On May 21 2025 federal agents ambushed and arrested him inside a Lower Manhattan courthouse right after his asylum hearing. He spent nearly 10 months in the Moshannon Valley Processing Center in Western Pennsylvania sharing a cell with more than 70 men. He lost 30 pounds because he could not eat the facility food. While his classmates at ELLIS Preparatory Academy prepared for graduation Dylan received zero formal education and relied on donated comic books to learn English. He was released March 18 2026 only after sustained community pressure. He remains under GPS ankle monitoring while his legal battle continues.

V. Children Detained at Dilley Texas
One third of the detainees at the Dilley Immigration Detention Center in Texas are children including infants and toddlers. Conditions are a nightmare. A two year old named Kaleth went 12 straight days without solid food until advocates intervened. Because tap water is unsafe families are allegedly extorted and forced to pay up to 40 dollars for fewer than 12 bottles of clean water. The spotlight is finally hitting this facility. VI. Illegal Courthouse Arrests: Chicago

Illinois TRUST Act bans federal immigration agents from making civil arrests at or near courthouses without a judicial warrant so survivors and witnesses can access justice safely. ICE is openly ignoring it. In one month agents staked out Cook County courthouses at least five times resulting in multiple arrests. The most sickening locations include the Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse. To dodge video documentation agents now do fast quiet grabs outside the building before anyone can react.

VII. Organizing to Abolish: The Blueprint in NJ 11
Analilia Mejia’s special primary victory in New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District sent a shockwave through the political establishment. Backed by organizers like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio Cortez she proved an unapologetic abolitionist platform can win. The 25 year old grassroots organizer and daughter of immigrant factory workers ran openly on abolishing ICE and rejecting reform talk. She turned campaign town halls into training grounds teaching anti authoritarianism civil disobedience community defense and how to prepare for encounters with immigration agents. She is also naming the invisible infrastructure: corporate data tracking systems like Palantir and ImmigrationOS.

VIII. The Myth of “Criminal Targets”

The administration claims they only target “criminals” for public safety. Their own data exposes the lie. Since January 2025 ICE arrested more than 146 000 people with zero criminal charges or convictions. Only about 127 000 had convictions. After the Minneapolis shooting DHS claimed they would pivot to a “targeted approach.” In the six weeks after that statement 42 percent of everyone detained still had completely clean records. ICE is averaging 7 000 arrests a week running a massive quota dragnet not a public safety operation.
IX. The $668 Million Flight Network
A joint investigation by KING 5 News in Washington and KARE 11 News in Minnesota exposed the logistical shell game. ICE spent 668 million dollars of taxpayer money this fiscal year on charter flights. Many are not deportations. They are internal transfers that rapidly shuffle detainees from state to state keeping them isolated and cutting off legal representation. At Boeing Field in Washington alone there were more than 200 ICE flights in 2025. These flights funneled people from the Pacific Northwest down to concentration camps in Mesa AZ El Paso TX and Victorville CA. This is a 240 percent increase in one year with the pace accelerating another 60 percent in early 2026.

Subramanyam “Subu” Vedam was brought to the United States legally as an infant. He spent 43 years wrongfully imprisoned for a murder he did not commit. He earned degrees and tutored others inside and finally saw his conviction overturned. On the very day he was released after 43 stolen years ICE was waiting. They immediately detained this 64 year old man using a minor 40 year old drug charge to fast track deportation. They transferred him to a Louisiana facility with its own airstrip to disappear him quickly. A massive legal fight and a judge ruling finally stopped it. The agency’s willingness to kidnap an exonerated elder exposes their complete lack of humanity.
XI. Betraying the Brave: The Las Vegas Trap
In Las Vegas Nevada Diana Butnarciuc the wife of United States Marine Veteran Patrick Baja was ambushed and abducted by ICE agents at her own green card hearing. Diana who originally sought political asylum and has zero criminal record had waited five years for this legal interview after her husband filed an I 130 petition. They did everything by the book and the agency used their compliance as a trap. Less than two months after detention she was swiftly deported to Moldova leaving her Marine veteran husband and two US born children behind. Nevada’s Attorney General has filed lawsuits against these tactics.

The pattern is deliberate. Every section above is the same machine: warrantless grabs warehouse lies medical neglect child bait courthouse traps veteran family betrayal and quota driven dragnet. None of it is failure. It is the system extracting labor terrorizing communities and disappearing the vulnerable exactly as engineered.
Keep eyes on ICE. The receipts keep piling up until the pipeline is shut down for good.
