Justice, Accountability, and the Killing of Renee Nicole Good
It takes less than a minute for the machinery of the state to extinguish a life, and mere months for its bureaucrats to sanitize the scene.
On January 7, 2026, Renee Nicole Good—a 37-year-old unarmed U.S. citizen, mother of three, poet, and Minneapolis community member—was executed inside her burgundy Honda Pilot SUV on Portland Avenue South.
The Executioner
The killer has been identified as ICE Agent Jonathan Ross, a 10-year veteran and Iraq War operative. Ross was deployed as part of the “Operation Metro Surge” mass-deportation crackdown.
This was not protocol failure or a “tragic miscalculation.” It was state-sponsored execution, carried out in broad daylight against a citizen who had stopped to support immigrant neighbors targeted by the administration’s militarized sweeps.
Evidence of Indifference
The most grotesque detail was not the three shots Ross fired - one through the windshield, two through the driver’s-side window as Good attempted to turn away - but the immediate aftermath.
According to court filings, 911 transcripts, and Ross’s own cellphone video:
The Approach: Ross walked past the shattered window of the crashed vehicle.
The Action: He continued to film the scene.
The Omission: There was no attempt to render aid to a dying mother.
“The camera didn’t blink, and neither did he. In the hierarchy of ‘Operation Metro Surge,’ documentation for the state took precedence over the life of a citizen.”
Not to secure the scene. To capture his trophy: a digital record of the dying mother. Video released later shows him muttering “fucking bitch” post-shooting. This was predatory detachment, not defensive fear—predatory detachment rewarded by the state.
The most grotesque detail was not the three shots Ross fired, but his choice immediately afterward. Court filings and 911 transcripts confirm that Ross walked past Good’s shattered window and kept filming with his cellphone. He prioritized a trophy for the state over rendering aid to a dying mother.
Where is Jonathan Ross Now?
Despite independent video dismantling the “weaponized vehicle” lie, Ross remains a federal employee.
Status: Active. He has been reassigned out of state, shielded from accountability while the FBI blocks local investigators from accessing evidence.
Legal Shield: He is currently protected by Qualified Immunity and claims of “Absolute Immunity” pushed by the administration. This legal armor ensures that federal agents can violate the 14th Amendment without facing state charges or personal liability.
The Result: No charges. No badge loss. Just relocation.
The Grift of Violence
Renee Good’s killing exposes the rot: taxpayer-funded militarization used to terrorize communities while shielding the executioners. While federal prosecutors resigned in protest, Ross was sent back into the field - armed and ready for the next operation.
The system doesn’t just produce these outcomes; it declares them a success.
