This is what occupation looks like. They aren’t just coming for our neighbors. They are coming for the witnesses.
They aren’t hiding it anymore.
In a video from Maine this week, we saw exactly where this is heading. A woman was doing the only thing we have left. She was standing her ground and recording ICE agents in her community. She wasn’t interfering. She was witnessing.
And for that? An agent pulled out his phone, took a picture of her face, and told her she was going into a federal database.
When she asked why, he didn’t cite a law. He didn’t read her rights. He said it plain as day: “Now you’re considered a domestic terrorist.”

From Minsk to Maine
We need to stop pretending this is normal “law enforcement.” It is not. The moment they label a witness a “terrorist,” they are borrowing directly from the dictator’s playbook.
You want to see where this road ends? Look at Belarus.
In Belarus, the regime realized they couldn’t arrest everyone who hated them. So they started treating witnesses like combatants. They didn’t just arrest protesters. They kidnapped them. They hijacked a commercial airliner just to drag a 26-year-old journalist, Raman Pratasevich, off the plane because he ran a Telegram channel that shared videos of police brutality.
It didn’t stop at kidnapping. They paraded them on TV. The Belarusian KGB forced these battered, terrified people to sit in front of cameras and “confess” to their crimes on national television. You can see the bruises on his wrists and the terror in his eyes.

The “List” is Step One
When that ICE agent in Maine says you are going into a “database,” he is telling you that you are now an enemy of the state. He is telling you that the protections of the Constitution no longer apply to you because you dared to look at him.
They are building a list of anyone who refuses to look away. This isn’t just one agent’s threat; it is a massive, funded surveillance dragnet that scans our faces and license plates without a warrant. They want to scare us into silence.

(This report by Georgetown Law exposes the exact database that agent threatened to put her in.)
Don’t Blink
They want us to feel isolated. They want us to think we are small. But we see them.
If holding a camera makes you a terrorist in their eyes, then they have already declared war on the truth. We may not be big, but our hearts are bottomless. Do not let them scare you into closing your eyes.
