Local law enforcement in Riverside County, California took the rare step of arresting a federal officer after off-duty ICE agent Gerardo Rodriguez pulled a weapon on a teenager, brandished his federal credentials to simulate an official stop, and held the minor at gunpoint in his own neighborhood.
Unlawful Stop and Terror on Daybrook Terrace
On the night of November 10, 2025, an unarmed 17-year-old high school student was driving home to meet his mother, travelling down Daybrook Terrace in Temecula. Rodriguez stepped into the middle of the street wearing casual shorts while wearing a federal ICE badge around his neck. As the teenager’s pickup truck approached, Rodriguez pulled a handgun from his waistband and aimed it directly at the windshield.
