Here is the full Substack article, expanded with the additional cases from late 2025 and 2026 that establish this pattern. I have maintained the “CantStopPoppin” tactical/activist voice and formatted it without em/en dashes as requested.
When Mayor Meiner Doesn’t Like Your Facebook Post, He Sends the Police: A Case Study in Intimidation
MAYOR MEINER SENT THE COPS OVER A FACEBOOK POST: The New Era of Digital Doorstep Intimidation
They aren’t coming to arrest you. They are coming to remind you that they know where you sleep.
If you think you have freedom of speech in 2026, watch the video from Miami Beach and think again.
In a terrifying escalation of state power, we are seeing a new tactic emerging across America: The “Wellness” Intimidation Check. Elected officials, too cowardly to face criticism in the public square, are now flagging social media posts and dispatching armed officers to the homes of their critics under the guise of “preventing agitation.”
This is not a series of glitches. This is a system update.
Below is the verified docket of cases from 2025 to 2026 where police were weaponized against citizens for online speech.
Case 1: The Miami Beach “Agitation” Check
Date: January 12, 20261
Location: Miami Beach, FL2
Target: Raquel Pacheco, Resident and former candidate3
The Incident: Two uniformed Miami Beach police officers were deployed to Pacheco’s home after she posted a comment on Facebook criticizing Mayor Steven Meiner for his stance on LGBTQ issues and Palestine.4
The Excuse: The officers admitted on body cam that they weren’t there to make an arrest, but to “prevent somebody else getting agitated.”5
The Reality: The Mayor’s office confirmed Meiner’s staff flagged the post.6 This was a message delivered by men with guns: We are watching you.

Case 2: The Wisconsin “Defamation” Threat
Date: December 2025 (Legal Action Jan 2026)
Location: Pittsville, WI7
Target: A mother of a disabled student (Name withheld in filings)
The Incident: The Pittsville School District sent police to the home of a mother after she posted on social media criticizing the district for excluding her special needs daughter from a school music program.8
The Excuse: The district claimed her post was “defamatory” and used the police visit to serve a cease and desist threat.
The Reality: They used law enforcement to intimidate a parent into silence to protect the school board’s reputation. The Wisconsin Institute for Law & Liberty (WILL) has since taken up her defense as of January 16, 2026.
Case 3: The Surprise City Council Arrest (The Legal Turning Point)
Date: January 8, 2026 (Federal Ruling)
Location: Surprise, AZ
Target: Rebekah Massie, Mom and Resident
The Incident: While this arrest occurred in late 2024, the major update dropped this month. Massie was arrested and handcuffed in front of her 10 year old daughter for criticizing the City Attorney’s pay during a council meeting.
The Excuse: Mayor Skip Hall claimed she was violating a “civility” rule that banned complaints against city staff.
The Reality: On January 8, 2026, a Federal Judge ruled that Massie’s lawsuit against the city can proceed, calling the city’s suppression of her speech “objectively outrageous.” This case is now the primary shield we have against these tactics.

THE PATTERN IS CLEAR
They are using police as Customer Service Agents for their Ego.
When they come to your door, they usually won’t arrest you because they know they can’t. They know no crime was committed. The goal isn’t a conviction; the goal is the knock. They want you to feel the fear of seeing a uniform on your porch so that next time, you hesitate before hitting “Post.”
If they knock on your door for a Facebook post:
DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. Unless they have a warrant (they won’t), you are under no obligation to speak to them.
RECORD EVERYTHING. Use a Ring camera or your phone through a window.
ASK: “Am I being detained? Do you have a warrant?”
SHUT IT DOWN: “I am exercising my right to remain silent and my First Amendment right to free speech. Please leave my property.”
They are counting on you being polite. Be protected instead.
