“Think of the Children” (Unless They Are In The Way)
Another day of political violence. Another driver with an oversized flag. Another child in the hospital.

We have an update on the student in Fremont.
Her name is Sofia. She is 16 years old. She is a junior at Fremont Senior High. And tonight, instead of doing her homework or scrolling TikTok, she is lying in a hospital bed at Methodist Fremont Health with a fractured tibia and a concussion.
Why? Because she stood on a sidewalk.
Witnesses confirm she wasn’t blocking traffic. She wasn’t “rioting.” She was holding a sign that said “Keep Families Together.” And for that crime, a grown man in a 4,000-pound SUV, flying an oversized Trump flag, decided she was a speed bump.
Doctors say she is stable. They say she is “lucky.”
But let’s be clear. Being run over by a radicalized zealot during a school walkout isn’t “bad luck.” It is a predictable outcome of a society that has decided some children are precious, and others are targets.
The Dogwhistle: “Which Children?”
We need to talk about the phrase “Think of the Children.”
You hear it everywhere. It is the favorite shield of the people currently in power. They scream it at school board meetings. They plaster it on bumper stickers next to their “Blue Lives Matter” flags. They use it to justify banning books, shutting down libraries, and patrolling bathrooms.
But today proved that phrase is a lie. It is a dogwhistle.
When they say “Think of the Children,” they aren’t talking about all children. They are talking about a very specific fantasy.
They are talking about children who are theoretical, not actual.
They are talking about children who look like them.
They are talking about children who are silent, compliant, and convenient.
Which children are they talking about?
Clearly not Sofia.
If they actually cared about children, they would be outraged that a grown man ran one over in broad daylight. Instead? Silence. Or worse, justification.
“She shouldn’t have been there.”
“She was asking for it.”
The dogwhistle is deafening: “Save our children. Run over theirs.”
The Green Light: From D.C. to Nebraska
You want to know why this driver felt comfortable hitting the gas? Because he watched the news yesterday.
He saw the Department of Justice announce that there would be no federal charges for the man who attacked Representative Ilhan Omar.
That was the signal.
When the government refuses to prosecute political violence against a Congresswoman, they are effectively deputizing the mob. They are telling every angry man with an SUV that the rules have changed. That driver in Fremont didn’t just see a student. He saw a target that the government told him he could hit for free.
The Pattern: It Started in Durango
This isn’t just about one guy in Nebraska. It is the same rotten logic that gave us the Jaramillo Abduction in Durango.
Remember the video? Remember the screams of the Jaramillo child. Let’s call him “Little Omar,” because he represents every kid they’ve targeted. We watched federal agents legally kidnap a father right in front of his son. They traumatized a child for life, destroying his family unit in the name of “border security.”
Where was the “Save the Children” crowd then?
They were cheering.
They were calling ICE “heroes” for ripping a father away from a crying toddler. And when Franci Stagi tried to film it? An agent threw her down a hill.
The Abuser Logic
This is the textbook definition of State-Sponsored Abuser Logic:
Step 1: “Look what you made me do.” (Blaming the victim).
Step 2: “If you hadn’t protested, I wouldn’t have had to run you over.” (Justifying the violence).
Step 3: “If your dad hadn’t come here, we wouldn’t have to traumatize you.” (Absolving the system).
They blame the child for the bumper. They blame the orphan for the cage.
The Verdict
To the people currently in power, and the mob they have deputized, children are not human beings to be protected. They are props to be used.
They use them as props to ban history.
They use them as props to scare voters.
But the moment a child steps out of line, the moment a child like Sofia stands up and says “This is wrong”—they throw the prop into the grinder.
Sofia will recover. Her leg will heal. But she will never forget that the people who promised to “Save the Children” were the ones cheering for the driver who put her in the hospital.
We know exactly which children you are talking about now. And we know exactly what you plan to do to the rest of them.
