44,000 Subscribers On Substack 65,000 Watchers On Reddit you Are Eyes On ICE

I spent the day making this for my subscribers, it's not much but I wanted to give something back.

I want to be incredibly clear about something. I would absolutely not be here right now, shining a light on these systemic injustices, if it were not for our community at r/eyesonice on Reddit. To the thousands of you who have followed me from those early days, who have watched me grow, stumble, and evolve over the years, thank you. You built this platform with me.

I got my start on Reddit so many years ago, monitoring and documenting the BLM protests and the social injustices unfolding in our streets. Through all the chaos and the heavy history we have witnessed since then, my core ethics have never changed. Investigate relentlessly, speak the truth without hesitation, and do everything in my power to be a voice for the marginalized.

When you spend your life documenting the cruelty of the ice machine, it is so easy to become cold and detached. It is easy to numb out. But I have fought every single day to stay humble and grounded, and I refuse to let this work harden my heart.

The reason I do this is simple. For a very long time in my life, no one was ever there for me. I know exactly what it feels like to fall through the cracks, to feel invisible to a system that does not care about your survival. Because I know that deep, isolating pain, I see others who desperately need a voice, and I use whatever platform I have to amplify them.

I come from a very culturally diverse background. Growing up in a blended family with, I was taught early on that our differences are our strength. That foundation cemented my belief that we owe it to each other to become better versions of ourselves. Every single action matters.

What I offer you, and what I will continue to offer, is unfiltered documentation. I offer deep dive investigations, a spotlight on the systemic abuses that the machine tries to bury, and a space that centers empathy and refuses to look away from the uncomfortable truths.

This brings me to the future of Eyes on Intel. The core reporting and the heart of this newsletter will always be free. Information that protects vulnerable communities should never be locked behind a paywall.

But I want you to imagine the scale and reach we, as a whole, could have if this energy, this empathy, and this movement were fully backed. If you believe in the ethics of this work and have the means, I am asking you to consider upgrading to a paid subscription. Your support allows me to dedicate more resources, push back harder, and amplify this fight on a much larger scale. We have the potential to take this movement to heights we have not even seen yet.

I also want to encourage you to reach out to me directly if you have tips, information, or ideas for stories that need to be highlighted. While I do not really stop, I cannot be everywhere at once. That is exactly why this community matters so much. Together, we are all eyes on ice.

To everyone who has read, shared, and supported this work from the Reddit trenches to this Substack, thank you. We have a lot more light to shine, and we are going to keep doing it together.

For this occasion, why not share a traditional recipe from your culture in the comments? Come over to Reddit and get your personal FBI agent and piss off MAGA chuds. Go donate to a good cause. Do something, because if we do not, it will be too late and we will not have anyone to speak for us.

As always, open hearts, open minds, and chinga la migra.
